Friday 15 April – 22 April EASTER Weekend / Week – No classes
Monday 25 April – Public Holiday ANZAC Day – No classes
Queensland times will be 1hr earlier due to daylight savings in VIC/NSW.
Daylight savings ends on Sunday 3/4/2022.
QLD times will then be the same as the listed class times.

Services / Auslan / Adult Level 2 Program
An intermediate program extending upon the fundamentals of Auslan.
Language Tree Australia offers Level 1, 2, 3 & 4 Programs.
Plus Level 1 & 2 Refreshers.
- Level 2 consolidates and extends upon what was covered in our beginner program, Level 1.
- We revise and discuss Deaf Culture in all of our courses discussing experience, challenges, opportunities and inclusion more in Level 2 and Level 3. The Deaf community and communicating with Deaf people. Attitudes towards Cochlear Implants, Interpreter Considerations, World Federation of the Deaf, Deaf in Developing Nations, Evolution and Preservation of Signed Languages, the impact of linguistic research on Deaf communities, legislative and constitutional recognition of sign languages. Opportunities for connecting with and working with the Deaf Community.
- Revision and consolidation of fingerspelling to improve fluency.
- Fingerspelling – ASL Fingerspelling, the use of fingerspelling in Auslan, Initialisation, Assimilation and Reduction to Lexicalisation.
- Numbers – Fractions, Percentages, Decimals, Basic sums, Measurements, Ordinal Numbers, more specifics of time.
- New vocab includes ‘Out and About’, Food, Drink, Shopping, Cafes/Eating out, Around the House, Directions, Animals.
- Grammar – Tenses, Translating, Use of Space, Transposition, Role Shifting, Compound Signs, Conditional Sentences. We also extend basic Grammar, to cover topics such as tense, role shift, transposition, conditional sentences and compound signs.
